When asked about Movember, Raquel tells me about her cousin in Nippissing who is participating in Movember by growing a moustache. Even though he lives far away, she is able to track his MOgress by checking out his photos and updates on Facebook.
Movember has truly tapped into the social and digital media market. Each country, and even many cities have an official Movember Twitter account, which is updated frequently. Mo Bros and Mo Sistas have the opportunity to create their own Mo Space to share their experiences. Our social connections and bonds afforded through the use of social media is an important fundraising technique, and also a great networking tool. This campaign, I have met so many people online and offline who have a passion for Movember and men’s health. The communication is so important in good times, as well as when we need the support of our network. I am so happy to have made so many connections along the way in my Movember journey.
